Hi! Welcome to my reading blog. My name is Chita and I love books.

In this blog I will talk about books I read and attempt to write reviews for them. I realized that I’m not a great reviewer and so you will find postings of how a book connects to me. I love Carlos Ruiz Zafon’s quotes, “Books are mirrors: you only see in them what you already have inside you.” and so I will try to find myself in books I have read and share it with you here.

I mostly read historical fiction, literary fiction, detective stories, thriller, and classic. I also read Young Adults because I teach English as a Foreign Language and love introducing books to my teen students.

When I’m not teaching, I sell books. I have a small, online, indie bookstore that specializes in illustrated books, http://www.alfandloubookstore.com. I also love writing and ten years ago I published a YA book because I won third place in a writing competition. I was in my 20 when the book was published and looking back, I’m quite embarrassed by the love story I wrote back then! By starting this blog, I hope I can practice my writing and hopefully someday I can write stories again.

When I’m not doing bookish related things, I paint on my sketch book and take pictures with my old D90. Nothing serious, just things I do to pass time and release stress.

I love the fact that my life is surrounded by books and book-related things. Through book community in instagram, I have made many wonderful friends and I hope this blog will be another channel to talk to more new friends.
